184. Laughing Dog Alpha Dog Imperial IPA

It was an IPA kind of week with warm temperatures and bright sunny skies here in Maine. Even though I am trying to clear out the stouts before the true warm weather starts I just couldn't pass up the big IPAs this week. This one was a good start to the week and one of the imperial/double IPAs from my Letspour.com order. Color is what you would expect with a small head that retains well. Aromas again are what a Double IPA should be, lots of citrus and bit of pine. Taste has a bit of caramel malt up front but then the hops kick in with plenty of grapefruit and other citrus flavors. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner than others but smooth and easy to drink for a beer of this ABV.
Pros: Hop flavor, well balanced
Cons:
Alcohol Content: 8% ABV
Calories: ???
IBU (Bitterness): 127
